  • May 23, 2012 - The Duke of Metal takes a "Leap of Faith"
Rich "The Duke" Ward of Fozzy and Stuck Mojo fame met worship leader Terry Chism at Noonday Baptist Church in Marietta, Georgia, and after becoming part of the church's worship ministry himself, Rich decided to pursue a new musical project with Terry--one that "focuses on "focuses on contemporary rock styles, soaring vocal melodies, and bringing a positive message to a troubled world." With Christian rock bands such as Stryper and Skillet in mind, the two formed the band Walking With Kings and have released a self-titled debut album. Read more...

  • April 24, 2012 - ALBUM REVIEW
Sometimes an album comes out of the blue and is so good that its name should be shouted out from the rooftops with high praise. Walking With Kings is just such an album, and more to the point was/is free to download from the bands website. So how does a free album come to be one of my most played albums of the last month or so?

Well when you first read the words download for free etc, you always have in the back of your mind the question as to why are they doing this? Is it so bad that they have to give it away or if not what is wrong with it and should I bother? Those same thoughts were running through my mind, thankfully though a couple of people had posted online about how good they thought the songs were, so I took a chance and now WWK is high on my list (already) for a place in my albums of the year... • April 17, 2012 - INTERVIEW WITH RICH WARD
Rich Ward has an impressive back catalogue of high quality work through his career. He can lay claim to being the driving force behind rap-metal pioneers Stuck Mojo, as well as the chief creative force with metal band Fozzy, fronted by WWE superstar Chris Jericho. Fozzy have evolved from a spoof act into a serious and highly regarded rock band due in no small part to Rich Ward being ‘one of the best song writers in metal’, according to Jericho, but he proved he was a talented artist in his own right when he released his magnificent melodic solo album ‘My Kung Fu Is Good’ under his moniker of The Duke. If that wasn’t enough, he is now part of a superb new act called Walking With Kings...

  • February 22, 2012 - WALKING WITH KINGS, SELF TITLED, 2012
    Written By Peter

Some names behind this band are more known than others, but the origin of this new band lays with the so far unknown Terry Chism (singer / keyboards) making contact with Stuck Mojo and Fozzy guitar player Rich Ward (whose solo venture The Duke – My Kung Fu Is Good I also really like). Other band members come from nearby, with Stuck Mojo and Fozzy drummer Frank Fontsere and Simon Farmery (Pride, Furyon and… Fozzy!) on bass. Now Stuck Mojo is an unknown entity to me (yet – please forgive me), so I can´t really tell how close this is. But since TC reckons Steve Perry, Bryan Adams and Michael Sweet to his musical greats, I think it is a pretty safe bet to say this is a far more melodic outing. Yet this is no Journey or Stryper clone....

  • February 13, 2012 - FALLENBLUE.ORG - WALKING WITH KINGS' TERRY CHISM, TAKES A LEAP OF FAITH WITH FALLEN BLUE

Having interviewed Walking With Kings' Rich Ward (also of Fozzy & Stuck Mojo fame) and now the bands lead singer, Terry Chism, its safe to say that this is a band to watch out for! Many people may shy away from Christian rock, but by doing so, they would be missing out on some of the best lyrics and musicianship in the industry today. Fans of Stryper, Skillet, Third Day, and Red will love this band. Its our honor to welcome Walking With Kings to our family. The interview below, with Terry, is one of the most in depth ones we have done here, as he shares everything from the bands goals, their inspirations, and a moving statement for police officers...

  • February 8, 2012 - RockUnitedReviews - WALKING WITH KINGS

Walking With Kings is a new Christian hard rock band from Atlanta, Georgia. The band may be new but the musicians are more or less accomplished, with bands like Stuck Mojo, Furyon and Fozzy in their CV's. No wonder that this album sounds very professional.

WWK have found a good balance between their 80'ies influences and the modern sounds, making this album quite varied yet somehow consistent. They kick it off with one of the more "retro"-sounding tracks, the rather fine "Mention Of Your Name" which reminds me of The Brave, Stryper and Firehouse. It's followed by the modern-sounding "Here I Stand" and "Wicked Ways", which sounds as if it could it be an unheard track from Bon Jovi's "Keep The Faith" sessions. Vocalist Terry Chism has a good voice, kinda like a cross between Dan Reed and Jon Bon Jovi, maybe that's what brought up the comparison.
